Iowa Figure Skating Needs Your Help
Since mid-2024, IFSA’s home rink Metro Ice Arena has been closed to skaters due to a breakdown in equipment. Iowa Figure Skating no longer has home ice to train its skaters or hold public events. Ice time in the Des Moines metro is very hard to come by and can be expensive.
Iowa Figure Skating is looking for potential partners or sponsors to work with the owners of Metro Ice Arena for maintenance to the arena so it can reopen for ice sports.

About Iowa Figure Skating Association
Iowa Figure Staking Association (IFSA) is dedicated to providing the highest standard of ice sport education to the central Iowa community.
Founded by husband and wife former World Champions and Disney on Ice principle skaters, Elena Tobiash and Igor Velikanov, IFSA aims to foster the passion for skating in students of all ages and skill levels. Figure skating, Hockey, or recreational skating – learn valuable physical and intellectual skills that can be carried beyond the rink.
Each of our accredited and experienced coaches want to provide the best experience for their skaters and share their love of the sport.
Iowa Figure Skating Academy Programs
Skate with Us! – Youth
Learn to Skate (LTS)
Learn-to-Skate classes offer skaters the opportunity to work on developing their ice sporting skills including figure skating and hockey. Ages 3 and up are invited to come and learn a new ice sporting skill.
Skate with Us! – Adult
it is never too late to learn a new skill. Adult learn-to-skate is for ages 18+ and all skill levels. Come hit the ice with the Iowa Figure Skating Academy and start your skating journey.
Competitive Youth Figure Skating
Want to take your skating to the next level? Competitive skating allows a student to join the United States Figure Skating and participate in sponsored skating events. Choose your music, choreography, costume, and let your creative skater come out!
