Private lessons are for any skater at any age who either wants to learn how to skate or who would like to improve upon the skills that they already know.Lessons are available for skaters who would like to learn or improve upon their basic skills,hockey skills or to advance into figure skating.

Q. What sessions are private lessons taught on ?

Generally,private lessons are taught on public sessions.However,there more specific sessions that you can schedule a lesson on such as freestyle ice (Figure Skating).

1. At the beginning we recommend to take 2 lessons per week.But if you are thinking about training seriously, then you will need to register for the club. By doing so, you will have additional ice time offered by the rink which is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Obviously the skating equipment is very important, the figure skating boots and the blades. If you already have the skates, then it’s good, if not, then I am sure we could find something that will work for you new or used.

2. We usually attend about 5-7 competitions per year. But, since you are only skating at Learn to Skate then it’s too early to talk about any competitions. Normally, if we have new students who start skating with us, then in about a year they have an opportunity to compete and earn good places.

3. What we do is what’s called a pre-paid card. For new students it’s $162 for 6 lessons which is $27 for 30 minutes. And for the next card it would be $180 which equals to 6 lessons which is $30 per 30 minutes.

As for now, we use public ice time. Friday at 8 pm, Saturday 1-4 pm, and Sunday 1-3 pm.
